Shomer Shabbos Event Staff — Lakewood NJ

A Shomer Shabbos crew is not a different menu or a different uniform. It is a crew whose entire schedule is built around Shabbos: they arrive before it, they do not drive on it, and they do not perform any work that would desecrate it. For a frum family hosting a simcha, that is the first question and the only one that matters.
Why Shomer Shabbos matters
When an event falls on Shabbos, the staffing decision is not really about staffing. A crew that drives to work on Shabbos, or lights a fire to finish a dish, or handles a transaction at the hall introduces a problem into the most protected day of the week. Families in the Lakewood area will not hire a crew that creates that problem, and they should not have to.
The alternative is to run the event without staff, which means the family cooks, serves and cleans on the holiest day of the week while guests are in their home. That is the reality behind the questions we hear most often: whether the staff observe Shabbos, and what they do about the hours either side of it.

Our standards
Every member of our crew is Shomer Shabbos. On Shabbos they do not drive, do not cook, do not operate electrical equipment for their own convenience and do not handle business that belongs to the day. Our Shabbos-compatible kitchen practice means the food is prepared before Shabbos and held with a blech, so the kitchen is finished when the day starts.
Our crews work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood. That supervision covers the kashrut of the food and the practice of the staff who prepare and serve it, which is why a frum family can book us without vetting the operation first.
- All staff observe Shabbos — no driving, no cooking, no prohibited work on the day
- Food prepared before Shabbos and held with a blech where the menu requires it
- Work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood
- Shabbos-compatible kitchen setup, including separated milchig and fleishig equipment
- Crews scheduled so that arrival and wrap-up fall outside Shabbos
Services
We staff the full range of Jewish events in the Lakewood area and the wider Ocean County radius: bar mitzvahs, vorts, aufruchs, sheva brachot weeks, brissim and vachnacht meals, Shabbat dinners, Yom Tov preparations, weddings, corporate lunches and shiva meals.
Most families who book a Shomer Shabbos crew come back for the next event, and often for the whole family. It is not a premium tier of service — it is the only way we work.
Booking
Tell us the date, the venue, the guest count and the hours you need covered. We will come back with the crew that fits, a quote for the hours and roles involved, and an honest note about anything that needs more lead time.
For events on Shabbos we schedule carefully, and we will tell you plainly if a particular date is tight. Four to six weeks is our usual booking window, and eight weeks for peak dates and for events that need a mashgiach.

FAQ
Do you provide Shomer Shabbos staff?
Yes, and every crew we employ is Shomer Shabbos. On Shabbos our staff do not drive, do not cook and do not perform any work that would constitute chillul Shabbos. If part of your event runs into Shabbos, the crew finishes its work within what their own observance allows.
Are you supervised by KCL?
Yes. Our staff work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood, covering the kashrut of the food and the practice of the people preparing and serving it. That supervision is what allows a frum family to book an outside crew without vetting the whole operation first.
What areas do you serve?
Lakewood NJ and a ten-mile radius, which covers Brick, Toms River, Jackson and Howell. We work in private homes, synagogues, community halls and rented event spaces throughout the area.
Do you provide a mashgiach?
Yes, a mashgiach is available on request for events, kitchens and venues, coordinated with the Kashrus Council of Lakewood where the venue requires it. We schedule it as its own line item so the supervision is clear in the quote.
Ready to book?
Send us the date, the venue, the guest count and the hours. We will come back with the crew that fits this event and a quote itemised by role and by hour.
