Shomer Shabbos

Staff who observe Shabbos

All of our staff observe Shabbos — no driving on Shabbos, no cooking on Shabbos, no work that would constitute chillul Shabbos. For an event that crosses Shabbos, the setup and the cooking are finished beforehand and the service happens after.

KCL supervision

Supervised by the Kashrus Council of Lakewood

Our staff work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood, which covers the kashrut of the food and the practice of the people preparing and serving it. A mashgiach is available on request for events, kitchens and venues.

Coordinated

We work with your own caterer

Most families already have a caterer they trust, often one they have used for years. We staff the event around your caterer, brief our crew on their menu and service method, and take responsibility for the room on the night.

Local

Crews from the community

Heimishe staffing means crews that come from the community they serve. Our people live in Lakewood and the surrounding towns, they know how a simcha here runs, and they need far less briefing than a crew sent in from outside the area.

Service area

We are based in Lakewood and work across a ten-mile radius: Brick, Toms River, Jackson and Howell.

Event Staffing in Brick NJ

Brick is a short drive from Lakewood and a natural part of our service area. We staff simchas and celebrations there with the same crews we use in Lakewood: Shomer Shabbos, supervised by the Kashrus Council of Lakewood, and experienced with the venues and the way of life on this side of the river.

Event Staffing in Toms River NJ

Toms River is the largest town in our service area and the one with the widest mix of events. We staff the Jewish celebrations in Toms River with the same Shomer Shabbos crews we use in Lakewood — trained for a formal hall and equally comfortable in a family kitchen.

Event Staffing in Jackson NJ

Jackson is at the western edge of our service area, and the events we staff there are usually home-based: vorts, brissim, anniversary dinners and the smaller bar mitzvahs. The crew we send is local, Shomer Shabbos, and comfortable working in a house rather than a hall.

Event Staffing in Howell NJ

Howell is the far edge of the service area, and it is where our reach is most likely to matter to a family that wants a kosher crew without a three-hour drive. We staff Howell with the same crews as everywhere else, and we price it the same way.

Reviews

Reviews coming soon

We are a new business and we have no published reviews yet. We could have written three warm testimonials for this page, and we decided not to: a review that has not happened is not a review, and families in this community read them carefully. What we have done instead is publish exactly what we will do, who our staff are and what they are supervised by, so you can judge us on something real. Reviews will appear here once real families have been served and have chosen to write them.

FAQ

Do you provide Shomer Shabbos staff?

Yes. All of our staff observe Shabbos, which means no driving on Shabbos and no work that would constitute chillul Shabbos. If part of your event runs into Shabbos, the crew finishes its work within what their own observance allows, and we plan the setup and the wrap-up around that.

Are you supervised by KCL?

Yes. Our staff work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood, which covers both the kashrut of the food and the practice of the people preparing and serving it. Where a venue or an event needs a mashgiach on site, we arrange it and coordinate with the venue.

What areas do you serve?

Lakewood NJ and a ten-mile radius, covering Brick, Toms River, Jackson and Howell. We work in private homes, synagogues, community halls and rented event spaces throughout the area. If your event sits outside that radius, ask us anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it.

How far in advance do I book?

Four to six weeks is our normal window, and we suggest eight weeks for peak dates, for Shabbos dates and for any event that needs a mashgiach. Because our crews are local we can often cover a shorter notice — ask us and we will tell you straight whether we can.

What does event staffing cost?

We quote per event, per hour or as a package, depending on the event and how regularly you book. The quote is itemised by role and by the hours on site, so you can see exactly what the waiters, the bartenders and the kitchen help cost. Base hourly rates are on the pricing page; the final quote depends on the event's size and location.
