Wedding Staffing in Lakewood NJ

Learn more

A simcha wedding is a large event with a small number of people in charge of it. The families are hosts, the couple is celebrating, and the service has to run for hours without anyone in the family noticing it. We staff weddings so the hall, the kitchen and the bar are covered by people whose only job is the event.

About this event

Weddings in the Lakewood area run from a room of family and friends to a hall full of several hundred, and the service expectations are high in both cases. A simcha wedding also brings the added requirement that everything served is kosher and that the crew is comfortable working in a frum environment.

Most families who book us have already chosen their caterer and their hall, and they want the staffing to work with both. That is our model: we do not ask you to change your venue or your caterer, we fit the crew to them.

Our staffing for this event

We size the wedding crew by the guest count, the service format and the length of the evening. A plated dinner with a long program and a buffet with an open dance floor need different ratios, and the drink service matters just as much as the food service.

Our wedding crews are Shomer Shabbos and work under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood. When the venue requires a mashgiach on site for a wedding, we can provide one, coordinated with the venue and with KCL.

  • Waiters briefed on the seating plan and the program timing
  • Bartenders for a full bar service or a kosher wine service
  • Kitchen help to support the caterer through the meal
  • A mashgiach on request for venues that require kashrut supervision

Pricing notes

Wedding staffing is quoted per event, based on the crew size, the number of hours and the service format. The quote is broken down by role so you can see what the waiters, the bartenders and the kitchen help cost individually.

Longer events and earlier load-in times are quoted accordingly. We would rather adjust the crew with you than send a bigger team than the room needs.

Sample menus and roles

Wedding menus in this area are usually a mix of family-style and plated courses, and many weddings serve both milchig and fleishig. Our waiters are briefed on the order of service so that the two are served correctly and in the right sequence.

The crew also runs the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a wedding moving: the late-night coffee station, the cleanup while the family is still celebrating, and the reset for the next event in the hall.

FAQ

Do you staff weddings with our own caterer?

Yes, and most of our wedding work is exactly that. We send the crew, follow your caterer's instructions on plating and service, and coordinate arrival times with them so the kitchen and the hall are ready at the same time. Tell us who your caterer is and we will reach out to them.

How much staff does a wedding with 150 guests need?

It depends on the format and the hours rather than on the guest count alone. A plated dinner with a long program and a buffet with an open dance floor need different ratios, and a wedding that runs late needs more coverage than one that ends after the meal. Give us the guest count, the menu format and the schedule and we will size the crew.

Are your wedding staff Shomer Shabbos?

Yes. All of our staff observe Shabbos, and every crew works under the supervision of the Kashrus Council of Lakewood. If part of your event falls on Shabbos, our crews arrive before Shabbos and complete their work without driving or performing prohibited activity on the day.

How far in advance should we book wedding staffing?

Eight weeks is the right target for a wedding, and more in peak season. If you are booking the hall and the caterer at the same time, tell us at the same time — we can hold a crew while the rest of the booking comes together.

Ready to book?

Send us the date, the venue, the guest count and the hours. We will come back with the crew that fits this event and a quote itemised by role and by hour.
